Join us on the ultimate Road Trip. It will be a week for quilt themed fun and adventures as we travel along the breathtaking California coast on our Road to California Tour. We will begin our tour in San Francisco and work our way down the beautiful California Coast to the fabulous Road to California Quilter’s Conference & Showcase. ‘Road’, as the show is affectionately called is one of America’s top quilt shows and the premier quilt show west of the Rocky Mountains.
Join us for San Francisco sights, wine tasting in California’s exceptional wine country, quilt shop stops, a scenic journey down US Highway 1, a tour of Hollywood and Beverly Hills and so much more. This is one tour to Road that will give you a wonderful opportunity to see some of what California is famous for.
Pricing and Inclusions
Join us for the On the Road to California Tour for $2795 per person land-only based on double occupancy. The single occupancy supplement cost is $1130. A deposit of $250 per person will secure your spot on this tour, due immediately at sign-up. The land-only cost does not include airfare. Prices are quoted in USD. The tour itinerary is subject to change based on availability of venues and updated schedules. The full program will be outlined in detail in the daily itinerary provided to all participants just prior to the start of the tour.

Itinerary
January 14: Day 1
Welcome to San Francisco, the stunning “City by the Bay”! After afternoon check-in to our hotel the rest of the day is your’s to discover the city on your own. This evening we will have an orientation meeting with the tour manager. Overnight San Francisco
January 15: Day 2
After breakfast today we will enjoy a full day of touring the most beautiful and known areas around San Francisco. The tour will include Golden Gate Park, North Beach, Twin Peaks, Fisherman’s Wharf and Sausalito. We will begin our day early with a guided tour of the city that will cross the Golden Gate and end in Sausalito. After some free time here, we will meet for a ferry boat ride on the bay to Fisherman’s Warf where we will enjoy dinner together. Later this evening we will enjoy a cable car ride to the Embarcadero. January 16: Day 3
With California’s most famous wine country nearby, today we will visit the areas of Napa and Sonoma for wine tasting. Additionally, we will enjoy a tour in the town of Berkeley and stops at two of the area’s most favorite quilt shops before returning to the hotel. Overnight San Francisco. B
January 17: Day 4
Today we begin our drive down California’s famous and iconic coastline. On our way to Monterey we will be stopping at 2 of California’s finest quilting establishments. We will also be making a stop for shopping and lunch on our own at Monterey’s fabulous Cannery Row. Before heading to our hotel for the evening we will enjoy a narrated tour of the Monterey area. Once we check into the the remainder of the day is on your own.
January 18: Day 5
Today we will enjoy one of the most famous and beautiful highway stretches in the world, the Pacific Coast Highway or US Hwy. 1. This incredibly scenic California stretch of highway is known for its oceanfront locales, rugged cliffs, hidden coves, and numerous beaches, making it one of the nation’s most popular road-trip routes. It’s truly one of the most naturally beautiful places on the planet to take a drive. We will make a stop on the southern portion at one of my favorite quilt shops before heading to the charming town of Solvang for the evening. Time permitting we will enjoy a walking tour of the town after we check into our hotel. Overnight Solvang. B
January 19: Day 6
Today we head for Ontario, the home of the Road to California Quilt Show. Our drive today will take us through Beverly Hills where we will enjoy a guided tour. Then it is on to our hotel just adjacent to the Ontario Convention Center where the quilt show is held. Tonight, you will enjoy tickets for preview night at the show. B
January 20 and 21:
These two days are free for you to enjoy the quilt show. You may watch the Road to California website (https://online.roadtocalifornia.com/) to sign up for classes and read about the special events held during our time here.
January 21: Day 8
We will meet this evening for a farewell dinner together.

This morning you may make your way to the Ontario Airport for your departure home. The hotel will provide transportation for you to leave at your desired time.
