Each year, the Houston International Quilt Festival gets bigger and better and this year promises to be as exciting as ever as the city rolls out the red carpet to quilt enthusiasts.
It has been said that visiting the Houston International Quilt Festival is like visiting an art museum. Each year, quilters from around the world have the opportunity to display their quilts and the final juried pieces are both unique and beautiful. We have added this exceptional tour at the request of our international friends in Canada, Europe, Africa, New Zealand, Australia. the United Kingdom, and others; but we are happy for anyone to join us, no matter where you live.
Join our 15th tour to the Fabulous Houston International Quilt Festival, a week of quilty fun for $2495 per person, double, $3195 per person single. We are the only group of this type with hotel rooms just across the street from the show at the beautiful and convenient convention center hotel, the Hilton America’s Houston, making it easy and quick for you to go to the show, attend classes and participate in all of the Quilts Inc. activities without the need of transportation or the hassle of waiting for a show shuttle. Prior to the show we will enjoy the Texas quilt museum, several quilt shop stops, a special visit to the beautiful Bayou Bend Gardens and Historic Old Town Spring, as well as additional activities. You may also attend the Gala grand opening night of the show and you will have plenty of free time to participate in one of the many workshops and lectures offered.

Day 1 – Arrive Houston: Self-transfer from the airport to the Hilton America’s Houston Hotel adjacent to the George Brown Convention Center. This evening we will gather in the lobby of our hotel for a short walk to where we will enjoy an authentic TEX-MEX welcome dinner together. (D)
Day 2 – Historical Old Town Spring and visit to a historic home and gardens.
We’ve planned a great day with visits to the amazing and internationally recognized Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens followed by the afternoon in the famous Old Town Spring. A fun day is planned with some surprises and some fun quilt shops.
As your evening is free, you may wish to attend the special event announcing the IQA show winners at the convention center. (B)
Day 3 – Texas Quilt Museum and Quilt Shop Hop. This morning we are off for a morning visit at the Texas Quilt Museum, here will will have time to enjoy their current exhibit and explore the Texas town of La Grange. The day will also include a fabulous Texas-Style lunch and stops at favorite quilt shops. We will also be making a stop at one of any Texan’s favorite road stops, you will not believe it until you see it!
You will be free to participate in Festival classes and workshops all week if you choose to do so. However, this evening, we provide priority tickets to the Gala Opening of the show. It is the best time to see the show and enjoy the vendors as the crowds are always light on opening night. (B, L)
Days 4 & 5: While it will be easy to get caught up among the multitude of vendors or engaged in looking at the amazing quilts that are juried into this show, you might also wish to consider the multitude of other activities that make up the quilt festival. Take a close look at the workshops offered and/or the various speakers and activities. This is a wonderful opportunity to take a class with one or more world class teachers. And even if you don’t want to spend a day in a workshop, you can hear some of the teachers at lunchtime or evening lectures. Check the festival brochure for these opportunities. (B)
Day 6: Our final day in Houston. After checking out, you may store your luggage at the hotel if you wish to participate in last minute shopping or workshops. (B)

There is a slight charge for the mailed catalog, however, class catalogs are posted online at the same time the printed catalog is released. Note: The Festival brochure with the list of classes will not be available until mid-July, 2024. After this time class information will be available at the quilts.com website.
